Chapter 2: Athelyna Part 3

"Alethyna was a princess that was held captive by the king's Civil Council. There was only five members in the Civil Council. Two of them were important men who were in charge of all the trades. The other two were in charge of the combat troops. The leader of the council was in charge of everything that happened in the land of the king. His name was Molonos Towersight. He was a big guy, according to scriptures and the journal of the Light Knight. His name was Krade Silum. That is all the information I have on this epic story." said Mr. Reliam.

There were a lot of students that wanted to know more. Many students raised their hands to ask a question. Mr. Reliam pick only 4 students.

The first asked, "Why was the princess held captive?"

"Well the Civil Council wanted all the power that the king had. They took the princess to a high tower where she stayed for a very long time and she was never heard from again." answered Mr. Reliam.

The second asked, "Why was Krade the Light Knight?"

"Krade defeated the Civil Council, but in turn he lost his life. During the final struggle with Molonos, he was forced to take his own life in order to save the kingdom and the princess. Now I did say the princess was never heard found, but only because legend has it that she teleported to another place and time."

The third student asked a ridiculous question, "How is all of this a myth and a legend?"

"The myth is that this story can only be found in the lost pages of Krade's journal and some scriptures that belong to a very wealthy man. The legend is both Krade and Alethyna. The fact that Krade took his life in order to save the kingdom and possibly the world, and Alethyna is a legend because she was never found. The whole town searched for her and never found her. The only thing they did find in the tower was a small shard that glowed a very unusual blue aura."

The fourth and final question was asked by Drake, "Do you have any proof that the journal really exists?"

Mr. Reliam answered Drake's Question while holding a rugged looking book made of leather above his head.

"Mr. Milus, I am the sole owner of the journal. Unfortunately, almost all of the pages have been ripped out and lost somewhere on this earth. I have been searching a very long time for the pages, but I am slowly giving up on the search."

Drake was very intrigued with this myth. Mainly due to the fact that most of the story that was told today was similar to the dreams he's been having lately. Drake stayed after class to find out more about the myth and the legend.

Chapter 2: Athelyna Part 2

Drake took a shower to feel refreshed and to take his mind off the bizarre dream that he just had. After that he went downstairs to eat some breakfast. While eating his cereal he heard the voice of Athelyna calling out his name as if she were in danger. He looked at his little brother Tommy.

"Did you hear that?" Drake asked Tommy.

"Hear what?" Tommy asked in confusion.

"It was like a girl's voice. You didn't hear her?" Drake asked again.

"No, maybe it's your imaginary girlfriend" said Tommy as he chuckled.

Drake left for school hoping he could just focus on school and not on Athelyna. On the way to school he saw a crow that was eating a dead rat on the sidewalk. As Drake passed by the crow it jumped at him and scared Drake. He almost fell to the floor but he managed to keep his balance. He kept walking and as he bent down to tie his shoelaces he heard someone whispering behind him. He looked over his shoulder and did not see anyone there. He finished tying his shoelaces and he heard the same voice again. He turned around quickly and again saw nobody. Only this time he heard the whisper more distinctly.

"I will not tell you who he is" whispered a feint voice.

'That sounds like Athelyna's voice, she sounds like she's in trouble.' Drake thought to himself.

'How am I supposed to help her? Do I have to be asleep in order to reach her? I'm so confused.' He thought as he walked into his first class.

"Mr. Milus, did you eat breakfast today?" asked Mr. Reliam.

"Yes, I am ready to learn more about the Egyptians today." replied Drake.

"Well, actually today we are going to learn about a myth and a legend" said Mr. Reliam. "The legend is a young girl named Alethyna and the myth revolves around this blue orb that can make dreams come to life." said Mr. Reliam with enthusiasm.

Chapter 2: Athelyna Part 1

When Drake got to his house he ate a light snack and began doing his homework. He finished all his homework in less than an hour. Drake immediately started researching his symptoms on his computer. He googled 'dream hallucinations' and clicked on the first link that read  'Dream Vs. Hallucination'. He came across a section that explained that some people experience hallucinations due to lack of sleep.

"Ryan's right, I do need sleep" he said to himself.

At the dinner table he was eating with his mom and younger brother. Drake's father died when Drake was 12. His younger brother is ten years old. While eating Drake noticed the chandelier was shining too bright.

"Tommy can you turn off the light?" Drake asked his brother.

"It is off" replied Tommy

"Drake, are you ok?" his mom asked.

Covering his eyes he muffled out some words.

"Are you sure? You're sweating" his mom replied.

"Can I just go to bed?" Drake asked.

"Yes, but take some medicine first" his mom answered.

Drake swallowed a pill for headaches. He went to his bed and began to fall asleep. Drake woke up but he was no longer in his room. He was lying down on a patch of grass. It was dark so he stood up and noticed he wasn't wearing his clothes. He was wearing a sleeveless dark blue tunic. He was bare foot. He looked around and began to wonder if this was a dream or if it was real. He saw a dim light getting closer and closer. Drake had nowhere to hide. A small figure was holding a torch. When the figure got within two feet from him he noticed it was the girl from his dream.

"I knew I'd find you here, my name is Athelyna" said the girl.

"Where am I?" asked Drake.

"You're in The Forbidden Forest" said Athelyna.

"The Forbidden Forest?" asked Drake with a puzzled look.

"Yes, close to Dailious. The capital of Revolein" said Athelyna.

"Why am I here?" asked Drake.

"You are here because you need to be" answered Athelyna.

They both studied each other. Athelyna is unlike any other girl Drake had ever seen.

"What's your name?" she asked.

"I'm Drake Milus" he said.

Something spooked Athelyna. Drake heard some ringing noise coming from behind him.

"I have to go. I'll see you next time" Athelyna said.

"What? Wait!" Drake shouted as Athelyna ran away.

Drake woke up to the sound of his alarm clock ringing.

"Huh? Was it just a dream?" Drake asked himself.

Chapter 1: Visions Part 2

Drake’s last class was English. All day he had been distracted by what he saw in the morning. The final bell rang and woke him up from his day dream. He gathered his things and headed out the door. Since he had practice he had to go towards the gym. Everybody else was going the opposite way. It felt like he was in a stampede. He was being pushed and shoved by the other students when a big guy ran into him. Drake dropped his textbook. He knelt down to pick it up. When he stood up all the other students disappeared. He heard what sounded like thunder coming from inside the hall. He turned to look behind him but nobody was there. He looked back towards the gym and saw the dark horse towards him. Drake braced himself for the impact from the horse. He closed his eyes shut. The horse passed through him then vanished. Drake opened his eyes and the students were walking towards the front of the school. Drake just couldn’t believe it. Drake finally arrived at the gym. He was five minutes late so he had to run five laps.

“What happened?” Ryan asked.

“I think I’m going crazy” Drake responded.

“You just need to rest a bit” said Ryan.

“Milus, Thompson!” shouted the coach.

Drake and Thompson ran towards the coach.

“Milus I want you to pin Thompson in less than three minutes” ordered the coach.

Thompson smirked. Mark Thompson was the biggest guy on the team. Drake had only successfully pinned Mark once out of six times.

“Go!” the coach shouted.

Drake was a bit tired from the laps but he was confident. Mark went for Drake’s waist but Drake evaded to the side.

“You’re wasting your time, Milus!” the coach shouted while pointing to his wrist.

Drake dodged another grab attempt by Mark. Just then sweat got into Drake’s eye. He quickly rubbed the sweat away. He looked at Mark but he saw the man from his dream. The man had a grin the whole time. The man charged at Drake and pinned him.

“You’re too weak to face me” said the man.

“You alright?” asked Mark.

After practice Drake got yelled at by the coach. Drake was upset but more curious to know what was going on with him.

“Hey Drake” said Ryan.

“Sorry Ryan, I’m just gonna go home and relax” said Drake.

“Yea, ok, just get some rest and clear your mind” said Ryan.

“That’s the plan” said Drake as he walked home.

Chapter 1: Visions Part 1

“Dude, I had the same dream again.”

“The one with the chick running through the forest?”

“Yea, only this time I got to see their faces.”

“Was the chick hot?”

“Does it matter?”

“Hell yea!”

“Then I guess she was, but I didn’t recognize any of them.”

“It’s probably just your imagination making your dreams fun and entertaining, since your life is so boring.”

“Ha ha ha, very funny Ryan.”

“Oh come on Drake, lighten up it’s your birthday.”

“Yea, I know.”

“That means 17 punches comin’ right up.”

“Ouch!” yelled Drake as Ryan got his last punch in.

“Alright Drake, see you at lunch.”

“Alright” said Drake as he walked away with his hand on his right shoulder.

Drake was walking towards his first class. Drake is a simple guy, but he is very fit for a guy his age. He is on the wrestling team. Drake is not very social. He tends to keep to himself even around his best friend, Ryan. He has medium short brown hair with a pair of hazel colored eyes, and tanned skin. Drake was now 17 with an average height of 5’8.

His best friend since grade school Ryan is more active and outspoken. He is also on the wrestling team. Ryan has light brown eyes, light brown hair, and light skin. Ryan was a small guy, not too strong but not too weak either. Ryan is 16 and his height is 5’7.

Drake’s class was at the end of the hall from where Drake and Ryan parted ways. The last bell rang and he started to run to class so he can slip in unnoticed by the teacher. As he approached the end of the hall, a girl in a dark brown cloak was there. When he stopped to take a good look at her, the girl disappeared. He rubbed his eyes and stared at the wall.

“I need to start eating breakfast before school.” Drake thought out loud.

“Mr. Milus, next time eat some breakfast and get to class on time” said Mr. Reliam.

Mr. Reliam is Drake’s World History teacher. He is almost 44 years old, has a lean body build, short dark brown hair, a dark brown goatee, which made him look younger, and brown eyes. Mr. Reliam began teaching before Drake even got a chance to sit down.

“Today’s lesson is about Egypt,” said Mr. Reliam.

The lunch bell rang.

“Finally, time for lunch” said Drake as if he were starving.

He met up with Ryan in the lunch line. The cafeteria is unlike any other high school cafeterias. The food was given out indoors and the students ate their food outside. The tables had parasols to block the sun.

“The pizza looks stale,” said Ryan as he picked up his slice of pepperoni pizza.

Drake didn’t respond.

“Hey, earth to Drake, woo hoo!” Ryan waved his hand in Drake’s face.

“Huh?” “Oh, sorry” said Drake snapping back to reality.

“You still thinking about your dream?” asked Ryan.

“I saw the girl” said Drake.

“Yea, and the guy on the dark horse” replied Ryan.

“No, Ryan, I saw the girl here at school” said Drake raising his voice.

“Ok, dude, relax.” Ryan tried to calm Drake down. “Where?” Ryan asked.

“Before my first class” answered Drake. “She disappeared when I got close to her.”

“Drake, you need more sleep,” said Ryan.

“Maybe, but—“ Drake was interrupted by the bell.

“I’ll see you at practice after school” said Ryan.

“Alright, later” confirmed Drake.

Prologue

Footsteps through the dark forest cannot be heard with the storm that's passing by. However, the dark horse's hooves stomping were thunderous. The footsteps belonged to a beautiful girl. She had medium long black hair, blue eyes that you can dive into, she was thin, and was wearing a dark brown cloak with a hood. She had some majestic aura glowing around her. The dark horse rider was a man with a black hooded cloak. His face was that of a 30 year-old man with a very scruffy beard. His eyes were a dark green with hazel in the center. The rider was chasing the girl. The girl came to a dead end. She turned around looking for a way to escape. The rider caught up to her and smiled as he approached her then said, "There's nowhere else to run." Something was shining from inside the girl's cloak.

"Hand it over!" demanded the rider.

The girl tucked it towards her as she backed away. The rider stepped off the dark horse and approached the girl snatching the item from her hands. While walking towards the dark horse he said, "Thank you, darling" he turned to look at her but she was gone. She had vanished. The only thing that remained was her cloak on the ground. The rider looked at the cloak and just grinned.
